Every day, dogs and cats in Romania are hit by cars, left injured in the cold, or abandoned once they're sick or old. No one is coming for them, unless someone decides to do it!
For two weeks, no one came for Vulpi..
A truck hit her on a busy road and never stopped. For two weeks, she lay where she fell, unable to stand, while the cold did the rest of the damage.
By the time a volunteer reached her, infection had already set in and her back legs weren't responding. Emergency surgery gave her a chance, but it didn't guarantee anything.
What came after was even harder than the surgery: wound care every morning, physiotherapy every afternoon, someone carrying her outside because she couldn't yet do it herself.
Today, Vulpi is running and playing in the back yard and is living the best life we wished and dreamed for her since the day we took her in.

This is the same path for every case, whether it takes two weeks or two years.
Pulled off the street
A call comes in: hit by a car, starving, or too young to survive alone. A volunteer goes to get them, day or night.
Surgery, medicine, time
Vet care first: surgery if needed, wound care, parasite treatment, then weeks of quiet recovery.
A foster or a shelter bed
While they heal, they're never left alone in a cage. Someone feeds them, walks them, learns who they are.
Adopted, locally or abroad
Once they're healthy, we look for a family (in Romania or another country) ready to adopt and make them a part of their family.
